Hello! We’re the 2026/2027 executive team. Keep reading to learn a little more about us and why we’re so excited to be a part of The Bolo Tie Collective.
Zenith Kramp — President

Welcome to The Bolo Tie Collective! I’m honoured to be the president this year, and I can’t wait to connect with all you creative writing enthusiasts. I want to foster an environment where we can all strengthen our skills and gain valuable experience in the publishing industry. I’m always happy to meet new people, so reach out to me at thebolotiecollective@gmail.com if you’d like to chat!
You’re most likely to find me curled up with the strangest book I could find, reading to my very sleepy Great Pyr (Pippin).
My Favourite Movie: The Adventures of Tintin (2011)
(Some of) My Favourite Books: Ambergris by Jeff Vandermeer, the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy by Cixin Liu, and S. by Doug Dorst and J.J. Abrams
Daniel Quinn-Bourque — Treasurer

I’m a fourth year accounting student with just as much passion for the creative arts as I have for
data and spreadsheets (which is a lot!). I’ve been writing as a hobby for as long as I can
remember. As I’ll soon be pursuing my CPA designation, my career lies in the accounting
industry, but reading and writing remains an important part of my life. My work will be published
in the upcoming Bolo Tie Anthology X, and I also have a novel in progress, which I was initially
just writing for fun, but who knows, maybe it will get published some day.
I’m also passionate about music, and regularly make playlists to listen to while I write, inspired
by the characters and story.
My Favourite Books: The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini
Vice President of Publishing

Kimberly Gargus – Lead Editor

Bhavya Singh — Vice President of Communications

Charlie Waniandy — Graphic Designer

I’m a third-year Arts and Cultural Management student at MacEwan and a graduate of NAIT (2024), where I studied Graphic Communications. I spend a lot of my free time reading and, every once in a while, writing, usually poetry, but I tend to keep that tucked away and quite personal.
I joined the Bolo Tie collective as a Substantive Editor and Copyeditor for Volume X, and decided I wanted to become more involved with the club this year. I am interested in research and plan to pursue a career in the field, with academic writing as a part of that work. While I don’t currently plan to make creative writing part of my career, I’m not opposed to seeing where the future might take me!
Some of my favourite books: The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh, and No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai.
Tori Krushell — Social Media Manager

Em McGinnis — Events Coordinator

Hello! Bonjour! My name is Em (they/she), and I am a community engaged arts scholar and activist working towards my Arts and Cultural Management BFA here at MacEwan. I have a passion for connecting people through community events, and, when you add in my love for literature, I find myself right at home as the Events Coordinator for The Bolo Tie! I am obsessed with horror (with historical and trans horror being my faves), the Gothic genre, and anything vampire. If you see me at events or on campus, be sure to ask me about what disturbing, fringe horror I’ve got my nose in that week!
Favourite Movie: The Labyrinth (1986)
A book I think everyone should read: The Divine Farce by Michael S.A. Graziano (2009)
Kelly O’Sullivan — Campus Engagement Coordinator

Michelle Philip — Website Manager

Hey, I’m so glad you’re here! I am a third-year Communications student with a minor in Digital Experience Design. I’ve always loved writing and reading, but MacEwan introduced me to the fascinating and innovative realm of user experience design. I still have a lot to learn—especially with coding—but I am so excited to integrate my love for effective messaging with my newfound interest in digital interfaces and website architecture.
Favourite Books: I’ve been collecting books at a much faster rate that I have been reading them, so my favourites change at any time. A classic for me is the Narnia series because it’s always a nostalgic delight!
